PROFILE
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Chowdhury Golam Kibria started his career at Pacific Industries Limited as a Trainee Officer(Computer Programming) in 1990 after obtaining an MBA degree with major in Management Science from IBA, University of Dhaka in 1989. He then moved to BEXIMCO as a Data Bank Development Manager and afterwards served at CARE Bangladesh as Technical Officer for Monitoring and Evaluation Research. He joined Jahangirnagar University in 1995 and presently serves there as a Professor in the Institute of Business Administration. He had opportunity to practically implement MIS Analysis, Design & Audit, Corporate Governance and Industry Competitiveness and helped the organizations improve their business practice.

The study focused on studying supply and demand situations in three major divisional headquarters of Bangladesh namely, Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet.

To verify the performance of the proposed method, a comparative study was also carried out.

The regression analysis shows that informal recognition has signficant relationship with employee motivation and performance of the front-line employees of food and boutique shops at Dhaka City.

Z., “Theory of Change in Development: A Micro Level Evidence from Bangladesh.”, BIISS Journal, 37, 1, 2016.In this study, the 'theory of change' has been operationalized for assessing empowerment of the poor through Integrated Agriculture (EPIA) program adopting quantitative method in the implementationa area. The empirical findings suggest that the EPIA program has brought about signficant changes among its beneficiaries located at Bauphal Upzila in Patuakhali district which is a backward costal area of Bangladesh.

B. & Tabassum, S., Inclusive Financing and Women’s Empowerment: An Empirical Evidence., BIISS Journal, Volume 41, 1, pp.87-106, 2020.This paper analyzes the impact of inclusive financing through microcredit programs in empowering rural women in Bangladesh. The paper used survey data collected from 128 women of Gazipur district by using structured questionnaire during May-June 2019. The empirical result revealed that only 46 percent of the respondent women have a reasonable level of empowerment and among them, 54 percent were covered by microcredit programs.

(2019), Analysis of Firm-specific and Macroeconomic Determinants of Capital Structure with Financial Distress Cost and Non-debt Tax Shield Effect: Empirical Evidence from Bangladesh., The Jahangirnagar University Journal of Business Research, Volume 20, 2019.The study atttempts to identify the implication of pecking order theory and static trade-off theory in capital structure decisions of pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh. In this regard, along with some previously studied firm-specific and macroeconomic factors, this study incorporated financial distress costs and non-debt tax shield into the model.
